About PinchukArtCentre

Opened September 16, 2006 PinchukArtCentre is one of the largest centres of contemporary art in the Eastern Europe. One of the main goals of the PinchukArtCentre’s activity is to renovate the existing Ukrainian art field. PinchukArtCentre has become a place for permanent and temporary exhibitions, art-projects, and an essential part of contemporary cultural life of Ukraine. Also, PinchukArtCentre owns a collection of contemporary art consisting of more than 300 artworks.

From the date of its opening, hosted five exhibitions: New Space, GENERATIONS.UsA, a personal exhibition of a Brazilian artist and photographer, Vik Muniz: Expertise", "Instinctive Eye: selected photographs from the collection of Sir Elton John", REFLECTION. More than 300 000 people visited these shows.

In 2007, PinchukArtCentre officially represented Ukraine at 52nd International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. Vice-PM and the Minister for Culture of Italy, Francesco Rutelli, has named the Ukrainian pavilion as one of the three top events of Venice Biennale-2007.

PinchukArtCentre is open for visitors from Tuesday through Sunday from 12:00 till 21:00. Admission is free. PinchukArtCentre is closed till 12 Apr 2008 due to the exhibition change.

MANAGEMENT

Director - Dmitri Logvin, a vice-president of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation for culture issues. Art-director - Peter Doroshenko (USA). Curators are Clair Staebler (France) and Alexandr Soloviov (Ukraine).
